EVOGEN EVP Xtreme Pre-workout Review

I tested out the EVOGEN EVP Xtreme pre-workout for 30 days during my workout routine and this is what I found.

EVOGEN site.

Their recommended dosage was 17.7g (1 scoop) and their container had about 24 servings. Lasted about a month. The price is the kicker. $49.95 on their site, and around $43 at supplement stores. That’s pretty expenses for just a pre-workout. That comes out to $2 a scoop!!

They brag about being “DMAA Free” but what is DMAA in the first place? It is actually 1,3-dimethylamylamine, a synthetic stimulant. The FDA has “deemed” it unsafe, yet won’t out right ban it. They admit however that there is not enough scientific data… yet, they declare it unsafe. DMAA leads to an increase in energy, focus, and heightened senses. It also may lead to the release of dopamine which improves mood. Body builders have been using it for a while now. The enhanced cognitive ability, in addition to the increased strength, can provide an added focus and motivation. Research suggests the use of 1,3-dimethylamylamine may cause vasoconstriction. This means that the blood vessels are constricted to increase blood pressure. This occurs without a corresponding increase in the heart rate. [1]. The FDA has all kinds of warnings about DMAA but they fail to mention that the issues are due to overuse [2]. Like ALL THINGS, overuse can be bad for you.

Instead of DMAA, they use Yohimbe. What is Yohimbe? It is made from the bark of an African evergreen tree. Yohimbine may also promote the release of nitric oxide. This could lead to the dilation of blood vessels and an increase in blood flow [3]. A review of seven controlled studies indicates there may be truth to the claim. In this study, yohimbine was clearly more effective than a placebo in treating erectile dysfunction [4]. Yohimbine’s ability to block the alpha-2 adrenergic receptors located in fat cells could, in theory, lead to increased fat loss and weight loss. Several controlled studies have evaluated this and found mixed results. On the other hand, two additional controlled studies concluded that yohimbine had no significant effect on weight loss or fat loss [5][6].

What’s In It?
Citrulline, Arginine, Agmatine, Leucine, Creatine, Beta-Alanine, electrolytes, Choline Bitartrate, Caffeine, Yohimbe, and Bioperine. All of these are legit pre-workout ingredients.

Contains some BCAAs, non-EAAs, electrolytes, and natural stimulants.

350mg of Caffeine needs to be pointed out. If you have a caffeine sensitivity, this will mess you up.

My Usage

I would take 1 scoop with water about 30 minutes before a workout. I would start feeling the effects in like 10 minutes. I would become WAY more focused. I could feel the surge of energy. I definitely felt like it was game time!

I took it during my Basic Resistance Band Strength Training Routine and I did get results from that routine.

Final Review

I do recommend this pre-workout. It hit me hard and nice. No crash besides having some intense workouts.

THE PRICE though. That is a tough one. This stuff is overly pricey.

$2 a scoop!

But if you can afford it, its worth it.

4 of 5 Flexes!

💪💪💪💪

*would have been 5 of 5 but it was too expenses.
